TWAS May 25

Hello 73 Families,

I hope all of you are enjoying the week. It has truly been beautiful here for so many reasons!  Below are a couple of messages from Ms. Thomas and one about our upcoming field trip (this is the last volunteer call — I  promise!!!) The rest, I will leave to the children:

Field Trip:

Telus Spark, June 6th.  The cost will be $17.00.  Form will be going home Monday.

Artist of the Week:

The Tragically Hip

After much anticipation, we finally have a full week with which we can explore this great Canadian band. The Tragically Hip have left a major impact on the Canadian music scene with their devoted fan base and ability to incorporate Canadian themes in their music.

Talent Show:
Hello!
If your child is wishing to participate in the Friday Music Class Talent Shows, Ms. Thomas will be starting auditions next week. Students from our class are invited to audition on Wednesday at lunch time. They are expected to come prepared to share a 90 second (maximum) performance piece. Examples may include a song, an instrumental performance, a dance routine, or other special skills. These are expected to be short, polished performances, as no rehearsal time will be given at school. If your child needs special equipment (i.e. guitar, rubik’s cube, or pan flute) they must bring it to school for Wednesday’s audition as well as their performance day. Large equipment such as the piano, floor mats, etc. will be available at school. If time does not allow for all students to audition during lunch, adjustments will be made throughout the week. Your child’s performance time will be determined after the auditions have been held.
Please remind your child that a Talent Show is an opportunity to showcase something special that they are good at. They are expected to practice this at home and come prepared. Please also ensure that any lyrics being used as school-appropriate.

Thank you!!

Ms. Thomas
