TWAS May 25

Hello 73 Families, I hope all of you are enjoying the week. It has truly been beautiful here for so many reasons!  Below are a couple of messages from Ms. Thomas and one about our upcoming field trip (this is the last volunteer call — I  promise!!!) TWAS September 15

Hello Everyone, I hope you have all had a good week and that your little ones are settling in to their new fall routines. The children have certainly been trying very hard to put in their best efforts from 8:00am right through until 2:30, and are showing great perseverance as they take on their grade 2 tasks! We were very fortunate to have Ms. Watson come to our class twice this week and guide us in some important mental health lessons.  First we learned about our feeling and thinking brains, and learned how to recognize when our feeling brains might be starting to take over from our thinking brains, causing us to "flip our lids." Next, students from our class worked with Ms. Watson to create four movies that demonstrated some stressful situations we may be faced with.  We learned a POP strategy to help us through stressful times such as these. TWAS December 15

Hello Everyone, High fives for your little ones as they were amazing sports throughout this extremely unconventional week!  The Wednesday show turned out great; the community walk was beautiful; we enjoyed night 'B's' performance; club Friday was a blast and now we're ready to return to our regular routine for one more 2017 school week! Despite all of the moving around we did manage to fit a lot of academics in, but I'll keep it brief as I know how busy everyone is. LANGUAGE ARTS We finished our master writing good copy monster descriptions and delivered them to Dr. George Stanley.  Apparently the artists have been working on their monster drawing skills and were very excited to have our work arrive.  They want to spend a decent amount of time on it so we won't be seeing the final results until the new year.  Parts of story: character, setting, theme, plot and point of view Drama: working with plot through reenactments of The Boy Who Cried Wolf ( than...
